Subject: Inserting Missing Rain Records into Database
wview stopped working last night ( radmrouted: recv sig 11: bailing
out! - reboot of NSLU2 fixed the problem) while it was raining. I
would like to insert some records into the database to reflect the
rain that was stored on the weather station itself (WMR100N). What is
the best way to do this?

I have corrected existing records in wview using the guidance in the
wview manual but haven't added new records. I don't want to add the
data to an existing record as this screws up rain rates. Have read
this: http://www.wviewweather.com/vanilla/index.php?p=/discussion/11/patchi...
What value should I put in for the other parameters (barometer,
outtemp etc.)? I would rather have gaps in the charts indicating that
there is no data. Does this mean entering NULL for everything else or
will that have consequences on the max-min data?

Thanks, Max

Creating an input file with three records representing the rain that
was recorded on the station and using NULL for all sensor values gave
me the result I wanted. Took ages to rebuild the hi-loaw database
(18476 archive records, 1500 hi-low took over 30mins) but I assume
that's an unavoidable consequence of running on an NSLU2.
