Job description
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The PhD candidate will work in a multidisciplinary team of
enthusiastic and ambitious researchers. Under the direction of a
Project Leader and in collaboration with other PhD students and degree
candidates, the PhD candidate will work on the development
technologies for a revolutionary aircraft that will stand out in the
existing aerospace industry because of its revolutionary design,
sustainability and economic characteristics. The PhD candidate will
have important responsibilities throughout the project; he/she will be
responsible for analyzing and reducing acoustic emissions of the
entire design including the aerodynamic acoustic emissions and
acoustic emissions originating from the engines.
Creativity and out-of-the-box thinking are key to the entire project.
The PhD candidate will not only benefit from the cooperation within
the team and the supervision of the Project Leader, but will also be
linked to a professor from a discipline within the faculty. Their
pioneering design will contribute to the air transport of the 21st
century. The candidate will also be responsible for supervising the
degree candidates within the team and for regular presentation and
publication of the innovative research results. Finally, he/she will
help organize a number of workshops for colleagues and other
interested parties both within and beyond the faculty.

Requirements

University Graduate
Successful candidates will be university educated, having graduated in
Aerospace Engineering or a field relevant to aircraft design.
Candidates will have experience working in a multidisciplinary team,
and will be able to think conceptually, creatively and innovatively.
They will be at the top of their field but will have the ability and
desire to look beyond it. The candidates we require will be result-
oriented, self-confident, persevering, and skilled in presenting; in
short, we are seeking pioneering innovators. For this function,
affinity with aerodynamics, acoustics and structural engineering are
also required.

Conditions of employment
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Estimated maximum salary per month: eur 2500 - 3000

Maximum salary amount in Euro's a month 2502
Employment basis: Temporary for specified period
Duration of the contract: This position has a temporary employment
basis of 4 years (48 months).
Maximum hours per week: 38
