DePaul University, well known for its academic excellence for over 100

School of Education is located on DePaul's main campus in the Lincoln
Park neighborhood on the north side of Chicago. The School of

educators and to provide educational experiences that facilitate

Assistant/Associate Professor of Educational Technology

The School of Education offers a tenure track position in Educational
Technology, preferably at the Associate Professor level, effective
Fall
2008. The School of Education seeks an individual with outstanding
accomplishments for advancing technology innovation in teaching and
learning to serve as catalytic leader in e-Leaning initiatives across
the entire School. This individual will be a knowledgeable mentor,
program developer (in collaboration with other faculty members) and
resourceful leader in the fast-paced and changing e-Learning world.

The successful candidate will provide leadership in curriculum
development for e-Learning initiatives within the School of Education.
The successful candidate will be expected to teach courses at the
undergraduate and graduate level and to provide leadership in the
development of the Center for Excellence in e-Learning and Research,
pending its funding.

Qualifications include: earned doctorate in Educational Technology or
related field; established focused research agenda related to
e-Learning; extensive knowledge and application of e-Learning
instructional design theory, principles, and practices using various
media and learning management systems, including distance learning;
evidence of successful PK-12 and university teaching experience;
experience in collaboration with public schools, preferred; ability to
establish and maintain effective working relationships with faculty;
and
excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities for the successful candidate includes teaching
incorporating a variety of instructional technologies, including
distance learning; provide leadership in the development of a Center
for
Excellence in Teaching and Research in e-Learning, pending its
funding;
building partnerships across the University and with PK-12 public and
private schools; performing professional scholarly activities,
including
research and publication; providing innovative leadership in the
design,
development and implementation of e-Learning across the entire School
of
Education.

Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
Departmental affiliation will be determined at time of hiring,
according
to qualifications. The starting date will be September 1, 2008.
