Can I give here my wishes about the info bar ?

I would like to see on it the following things:
- file name
- path to file name
- star to let know if file is modified since last save
- date/hour
- characters/word/paragraphs/page total and/or partial count
- timer countdown
- timer end visual alert (sth red or blinking when time is over, which
should be displayed even if the countdown timer is not displyed in the
infobar)
- sth telling me if I am in focus mode or not

And via the preferences, I would like to be able to choose:
- what of these elements have to be displayed in the info bar
- the position of these elements ? (left, center, right) ?? not
sure...
- customizing the date/hour format
- the info bar background and text-color
- the info bar text font
- the ability to auto-hide this bar, or a keyboard shortcut to switch
its visibility

I agree with all of JB's info bar feature suggestions.

In addition, I would like the total and partial counts to be more
customizable. I want to be able to set a target word/character count
(total number of words or characters) and to display three related
numbers on the info bar:

-target words (or character) number (e.g. target:500)
-how many words I've written (e.g written:400)
-how many words remain towards my target (e.g. remaining:100)

This feature would be useful for short writing assignments or for
website comment forms with a word or character limit.

Unrelated to the info bar, there is another feature I could use. I'd
like to be able to highlight and move text when editing (rather than
using cut and paste). In the current version, highlighted text
displays a word count. Is it possible to add CRTL, Shift, or ALT,
while clicking on the highlighted text, to drag it to another part of
the document?

With an improved info bar and the ability to easily highlight and move
bits of text, WM would suit my needs perfectly.
