If anyone wants to send a fax to anyone in our parliament, try:
http://www.net-efx.com/faxfeds/
It's called "Fax the Feds" and allows you to send faxes to any member
of parilament, and has them listed by last name, by riding, and by
portfolio.

Ms. Copps, when you were running for office, you made a promise. We all
heard the promise, and saying that you were "shooting from the lip" does
not change that. You repeated that promise just a few weeks ago. Now,
you tell us that you will not honor your word - instead, you will remain
in your present position, at least until the next election.
I don't know why I should be surprised. Your government has not kept
many of the promises they were shouting from the rooftops just a few
months ago. About the only thing you folks have managed to do is fiddle
while the seperatists nearly walked away with it all (the people had to
come to Montreal to do your job for you). Oh yes, you did manage to pass
some of the most ignorant legislation in history on gun control that
will do nothing to deter crime. It will only make criminals of a whole
lot of honest and upstanding citizens, and cost billions to administer.
(By the way - I'm not a gun owner).
So, if you won't keep your word, why should I care? Well, I do because I
love this country, and I do not like the way I see it going. As a
citizen, I would love to be proud of my government - to know it stands
for right and justice and honor.
Well, we all know the basis of having honor is the ability to keep your
word. Neither you, your boss nor your party (for whom I voted - sad to
say) have shown the slightest interest in doing that.
No wonder the Canadian public has nothing but contempt for
representatives of government.

What makes you think Faxing a puppet on a string
is going to do any good?

Well, Craig - hope springs eternal. I don't think it will
do any good, but if everyone did it, she'd get the point
and so would the puppet master. :-))
It can't do any harm. I say it's worthwhile letting them know when you
are displeased, for all the time it takes.
Better send your fax to someone else......early news reports here in
Vancouver indicate that Copps has just resigned.

I tried this, and my mail was returned to me... what's up with
this? What am I missing?

Yes, the only catch is that she can run in the byelection upcoming. I
can only hope that her constituents realize that if they vote a Liberal
back in, their MP won't be seeking their advice until the next election.
So much for another "Red Book" promise--namely more free votes.

I am not under any illusion that my fax made any difference, but she
DID bow to pressure from people all over the country.
If we don't chastise them when they are in the wrong, they'll just keep
on doing wrong.
It's time we stopped putting up with lies, half-truths, and arrogant
indifference to the electorate.
