You have sound on a card or on motherboard? if latter what is model of
motherboard?

mine works perfectly
but if you're having problems try this
press and hold the Microsoft key and press the Pause Break key. click device
manager, click the sound video and game controllers, right click and
uninstall the driver completely, then click action from the menu bar and
then click scan for hardware changes

Whats the motherboard name and model? Should be printed on the motherboard.
Or if you dont want to open the case...
Download cpu-iz @ http://www.cpuid.com/download/cpuz/cpuz_151_setup.exe
Install it, run it and tell us what it says under mainboard tab for
Manufacturer and Model.
