I've been using PicLens for quite some time already, it's a cool app
(especially the integration with Flickr and Facebook), and I like the
way it works: You can integrate it in your own phot website by
publishing a RSS feed of the pictures, and using the same IDs for the
pictures in the HTML file. Pretty cool.

It does have a couple of kinks though: It works only on the primary
screen (which is a PITA when you're projecting, or watching pics on
TV). Sometimes it can be shaky. It works only with pictures from a
HTTP source (so either online, or you need a localhost to run). Other
than that, love it.

Greetings,
Laurent

Now that is cool, but, I dont think its that hard to do the 3d part of that.

That reallys just a 3d modelw tih interactive panel filled with images. I did a 2d version of that for my sorted listbox http://www.codeproject.com/KB/WPF/SortingLists.aspx
so we could put that control one a 3d viewport just fine. And with a little virtualisation bingo PicLens.
