I’ve got a customer looking for someone to help them design and implement some flight test and evaluation software with lots of high data rate visualization displays that they have tried to implement in WPF and have found it lacking from a performance perspective. So they are planning on going with a Direct2D implementation and need someone to validate their approach and lead them through getting started with the effort.

Anyone out there on either of these lists with that expertise or know someone? If so, please little ‘r’ me and I’ll put you in touch.

Thanks

Brian

And the first thing you thought about when you woke up? Code!

Well, you are both manlier than me then. My first half hour when waking up is a shower, that first cup of coffee and finally a scan of the headlines in the paper.

I get up earlier than the kids just to have that peace and quiet.

Hi Brian,

I'm too loaded up to really take on something new, but I think I might be able to help.  I have a project called DirectCanvas, which is a drawing API that attempts to do what WPF can visually do (images, vector graphics, video pixel shaders, etc), but in immediate mode fashion.  It is based on Direct2D, Direct3D, WIC and DirectShow.  It supports rendering to WPF w/o airspace or Winforms. Unfortunately it is abandon-ware and have no plans of continuing the .NET version (maybe the C++ version though).  But they are more than welcome to use it as reference, copy/paste snippets etc.

As Jimmy Fallon once said “nothing compares to the smile of a baby except the joy of sleeping in late because you don't have kids” Waking up at 6 o’clock when I don’t have to be at work until 8:30 is less than fun.
