The good doctor feared the worst and escaped to his bomb shelter in the Nevada desert.  I believe he is now blogging about cockroaches, and other lifeforms that will survive nuclear holocaust.  The only way to reach him is via smoke signal, which he keeps an eye out for via periscope.
