Charles

If you are still listening to emails from this group, let me say I found your latest MSDN column to be a thing of absolute beauty, that is truly inspired, and I will shortly be having hours of fun messing around with that one.

Seriously man, where did you find out how to create a new pcm stream, is that sort of thing well known, or did you have to research it, or did you just like know how to do that.

If its the latter, you are even more insane than I first thought.

It is, but one tiny correction. The minor scale should have been labelled as the relative or natural minor key. There are other minor scales that derive from different rules.

Apart from that minor quibble, a truly stunning article.

I like the third option, he did not reasearch it, and it is now well known. Yet somehow Charles just *knows* it!

The only possible explanation is that he

a) Did way too many drugs at woodstock, and finds all this stuff somehow easy
b) Is in fact an advanced alien scout sent to test the people of earth and found them lacking
c) He is in fact insane

So that's all three options then.

Seriously, if it hadn't been for Charles, I would probably still been a Unix dev. He is, totally insane and totally readable.

Younger devs won't remember a time when message pumps and events were seriously esoteric topics. I know I found it alien.

I did *not* figure out how to derive from MediaStreamSource on my own.  Back in 2009 I did a couple of blog entries on sound in Silverlight 3, and got the lowdown from a couple other blog entries, including one by Pete Brown.  The links are in here:
