It's been a while since I last put an article up on CodeProject, but
finally found the time / inspiration:

http://www.codeproject.com/Articles/428088/A-Gesture-Driven-Windows-Phone-To-Do-List

I'm dead pleased with how this one turned out.

Despite my recent frolics with iOS, I still find myself coming back to
Silverlight, Visual Studio and Windows Phone!

Yes, I saw the original blog posts as well, and bookmarked them. I'm working on an app that's ripe for this sort of gesture based interface. Very good article, Colin.

Nice one Colin. I like the pinch gesture to add a new item the most.
Very cool.
Any plans on bundling this up into a reusable control?

Cheers,
Daniel

I found this app a while ago and was quite impressed...didn't realize you had written it (or that it was a clone of an app on that platform that must not be named).

I had not though about making it a reuseable control. Thinking about it
a bit more, I can see that working. Only a couple of the gestures are
coupled directly to the todo application.

I might give this a go next week, although my Mac will be delivered on
Monday, so I might be busy with other things!

Cool, if possible it would be great to see it when complete.

I was listening to the Metro Developer Show (podcast) on my commute this morning, and this article was given as their developer tip of the week with all sorts of praise. Congrats, Colin.

I assume that Colin hasn't replied because he's just scored a bronze in the gymnastics in the Olympics.

Sorry mate - I'm in a whimsical mood at the moment. I've also got my head buried in Metro Design language at the moment and I needed some light relief, so I watched the mens gymnastics. They also had distinction today.

Cool - I didn't know we had grabbed a bronze in Gymnastics, only just
catching up on the games after a hard day at work, followed by some
serious DIY!

Gymnastics is one of the best spectator sports of the game.

I know one of the gymnasts from the Sydney olympics; guy caled Craig Heap. He's got tiny legs, and the biggest shoulders you will ever see on a human being (his speciality was the rings). He commentates on gymnastics for the BBC now.
