Join us on Twitter. I'm astounded that I participate in a social
network, but it's fun. Jeff and I go back and forth on various issues
and sure would be nice to see some of you all joining the banter.

Just added you to my folks I follow. My updates are protected so I'll have to approve you if you want to follow me. (Got tired of multitudes of spammers wanting to follow me).

Kristin, it may have. Marsha Love and John Cunningham were the only other WOYPers I was aware of on Twitter.

Great, Don.

Are you anywhere near Colonial Beach? We go down there for the day sometimes. We have a favorite restaurant there, the Dockside, and we sit out on the beach for the afternoon and then each fresh seafood for dinner.

Colonial Beach is way north up near Dahlgren. I'm three hours south of
there.

Don,

Is it that far? It is about as close to you as we get normally. Just a thought.

BTW, Thanks for getting me to try Evernote. It is very useful. Among other things, I am moving my recipe book into it. Since these days we get a lot of our recipes off the Internet in the first place, it is very handy just to paste them into notes, add a few tags, and there they are. Lots easier than all that hand entry on the Palm!

Oh, it's that far all right. I normally go up 301 when I go to Baltimore from here, so I pass right by Dahlgren prior to crossing the Potomac River Bridge. Colonial Beach is off 205 if memory serves - shouldn't be too far from Dahlgren.

Maybe we can coordinate lunch one day when I go up to Baltimore. I could stop for a couple hours in Colonial Beach and met you at your favourite lunch spot.

See, Bert - you're getting with it! Jeff is a Evernote monster though - if EN ever fails it will be cause of him! :)

John,

Just curious. Is the resemblance between your Twitter ID and Django (Reinhardt), one of my favorite musicians, purposeful?

It is a tribute, of sorts. Django is the only artist that is
permanently on my mp3 player.

Okay, well we share a taste in music, but then I have  very wide musical taste. What recordings do you recommend?

Marsha, how do you get those cool symbols in your tweets? Especially the Apple one?

I seem to be fighting a strange problem in Twitter. I want to add three WOYP people to those I follow: @stirwise, @mlove0723, and @johnnaryry. So this morning I searched them on Twitter and checked "follow" Then I went to Tweetdeck to add them to my WOYP group, and none of them were on my list of people I follow. So I went back to their pages and checked "follow" again. And again they didn't show up.

since then I have managed to get @stirwise and @mlove0723 onto my follow list and my WOYP group working through TweetDeck. But I still can't seem to add @johnnaryry, either directly through Twitter or through TweetDeck. No idea why.

Bert, if you follow 'twitter' on Twitter, you'll see that they are
currently having problems with the 'follow' functionality.

Bert, I saw this with Nambu on the Mac, but TweetDeck seems to be doing better. I think it's just a question of waiting for them to show up. I've noticed that Twitter can be slow on updates like this sometimes. Some of the folks I added only started having their updates show up a few hours after I started following them.

I always get the feeling that the Twitter folks are surprised by their
success. I don't feel that they expected the service to take off so.
The Twitcopalyse and the follow problem seems like signs of growing
too fast.

Twittelator Pro for the iPhone has dingbats and emoji's. The Apple dingbat was recently added.
(From stone.com: "Note: Emoji's are only visible on iPhones/touches and Japanese mobile devices.")
