Apologies to those who are on both lists:

Well done everyone who participated in the first Waterford Open Water swim. I hope you enjoyed it.

It was quite a tough swim, and had all the ingredients for a demanding open water event. There was a large temperature variation and large surface condition variation. The start was warm and calm, but after the turn at buoy 2 and heading out into the channel the water temp dropped and swell and chop picked up. In addition the swim to the turn / finish was across the chop, thus emphasizing the need for bilateral breathing. Lets hope you practice it for next year.

Special award to the youngest swimmer: Billy Mulcahy (12). Well done Billy, obviously a name to watch out for in the future.
