The USAID supported Innovation in Agricultural Training and Education Program (InnovATE) will host the First International Symposium on Innovation in Agricultural Training and Education (ATE). This global event is designed to stimulate and organize knowledge about key issues that impact ATE. We expect many key specialists and stakeholders to attend, so it will be held close to Washington, DC at the George Mason University and Conference Center in Fairfax, Virginia.
This event will bring together practitioners and development professionals working in agricultural training and education at the primary and secondary levels, for youth and workforce development, and in vocational and higher education programs. We will engage the participants in dialog to characterize good practice and define urgent challenges in three cross-cutting areas: gender equity in agricultural programs, ATE in post-conflict environments, and youth and workforce development. Underlying these themes will be the development of the ATE community of practice.
We’d like to hear from you. What other topics do you consider critical to discuss at the ATE symposium? What colleagues, programs, and organizations should be represented at this event? In the near future we will be hosting e-consultations and webinar to identify key issues that impact ATE capacity development. Please let us know if you wish to join us!
Please send your input to us at innovat...@vt.edu.
