WEDNESDAY, 4/24. Thanks for meeting my challenge from what I posted=20
yesterday. Hope lots of you will vote -- and there's a very good start! =
And=20
this week's survey is not just for new voters so if you are a regular vote=
r,=20
don't leave me now. I'm going to post this note all week so you won't=20
forget!!
I have a challenge for some of you. I had someone tell me that they=20
didn't think the dancers who normally go to events vote in the survey. I =
happen=20
to know this isn't true but if you are one of those people who have never=
=20
voted or don't vote regularly, will you please do so at least this week? =
=20
You can vote for one dance or up to eight of them but just vote and we wil=
l=20
see how the results play into the total results this week. Just send them=
=20
to me at _tka...@aol.com_ (mailto:tka...@aol.com) and please don't number=
=20
the votes because I have to erase the numbers before I can sort the votes.
=20
I already had a lot of new people vote yesterday and hope it continues =20
throughout the week. I know people just don't think about voting or remembe=
r to=20
do it by Sunday afternoons, but when I want to remind myself of something=
=20
I send myself an e-mail with the reminder in the subject line so I can nag=
=20
myself all week. LOL

SUBJECT: Update To Kickit
FROM: Peter
=20
This is some technical stuff for website developers, so if that's not you, =
=20
go
ahead and skip it.
=20
I have figured out how to make truly permanent links to Kickit step sheets
that always take you directly to the step sheet. The problems fixed are:
1) In the past, someone might put a link on their website to a step sheet=
=20
at
Kickit, using the dance number. But the numbering of the dances changes=20
from
one update to the next, so the links at their site would break each day.
2) I added a "Permalink" at the bottom of each step sheet that =20
theoretically
never changed, but if your dance title matched someone else's dance title,=
=20
the
permalink would give you a table of search results instead of your step=20
sheet.
=20
The new system gives a unique code to every step sheet, which will never
change (much like the codes used at YouTube to give the videos unique =20
links).
I have also added a URL shortener so you can use kkt.to instead of
_www.kickit.to_ (http://www.kickit.to) , saving you 7 characters in each=
=20
URL.
=20
To get the permanent link for any step sheet visible at Kickit, right-click=
=20
on
the Permalink at the bottom of the step sheet and select "Copy Link =20
Location"
or "Copy Shortcut" or "Copy link address" or whatever your browser calls=
=20
it.
You can then paste that copied URL into your website and have a permanent=
=20
link
to the Kickit step sheet right there on your site. It will still work when=
=20
the
Kickit site is updated, and it will always show your step sheet, even if=
=20
your
dance title matches another's.

<BR>********************<BR><STRONG><FONT color=3D#ff0080>SUBJECT: Update T=
o=20
Kickit<BR>FROM: Peter</FONT></STRONG></DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>This is some technical stuff for website developers, so if that's not =
you,=20
go<BR>ahead and skip it.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>I have figured out how to make truly permanent links to Kickit step=20
sheets<BR>that always take you directly to the step sheet. The problems fix=
ed=20
are:<BR>1) In the past, someone might put a link on their website to a step=
=20
sheet at<BR>Kickit, using the dance number. But the numbering of the dances=
=20
changes from<BR>one update to the next, so the links at their site would br=
eak=20
each day.<BR>2) I added a "Permalink" at the bottom of each step sheet that=
=20
theoretically<BR>never changed, but if your dance title matched someone els=
e's=20
dance title, the<BR>permalink would give you a table of search results inst=
ead=20
of your step sheet.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>The new system gives a unique code to every step sheet, which will=20
never<BR>change (much like the codes used at YouTube to give the videos uni=
que=20
links).<BR>I have also added a URL shortener so you can use kkt.to instead=
=20
of<BR><A href=3D"http://www.kickit.to">www.kickit.to</A>, saving you 7 char=
acters=20
in each URL.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>To get the permanent link for any step sheet visible at Kickit, right-=
click=20
on<BR>the Permalink at the bottom of the step sheet and select "Copy Link=
=20
Location"<BR>or "Copy Shortcut" or "Copy link address" or whatever your bro=
wser=20
calls it.<BR>You can then paste that copied URL into your website and have =
a=20
permanent link<BR>to the Kickit step sheet right there on your site. It wil=
l=20
still work when the<BR>Kickit site is updated, and it will always show your=
step=20
sheet, even if your<BR>dance title matches=20
another's.<BR>********************<BR><STRONG><FONT color=3D#ff0080>SUBJECT=
