WEDNESDAY, 4/24. Thanks for meeting my challenge from what I
posted yesterday. Hope lots of you will vote -- and there's a very good
start! And this week's survey is not just for new voters so if you are a
regular voter, don't leave me now. I'm going to post this note all week so
you won't forget!!
I have a challenge for some of you. I had
someone tell me that they didn't think the dancers who normally go to events
vote in the survey. I happen to know this isn't true but if you are one of
those people who have never voted or don't vote regularly, will you please do so
at least this week? You can vote for one dance or up to eight of them but
just vote and we will see how the results play into the total results this
week. Just send them to me at
tka...@aol.com and please don't number the
votes because I have to erase the numbers before I can sort the votes.
I already had a lot of new people vote yesterday and hope it continues
throughout the week. I know people just don't think about voting or remember to
do it by Sunday afternoons, but when I want to remind myself of something I send
myself an e-mail with the reminder in the subject line so I can nag myself all
week. LOL

I know there's lots of upcoming events and many of the new dances are on
these DVDs. I like the fact that you can navigate quickly to any dance you
want to look at rather than having to go through the whole disk to find a
dance. The show is always shot with 3 cameras so you feel like
you're there! If you haven't ordered videos from CJ before, there is a
walk-through of every dance taught at the event and if you go to the link above,
you can see the videos from previous events with a list of all the dances on
each video, including the Showdown.

SUBJECT: Change of venue for WILL CRAIG WORKSHOP
– August 25, 2012
Due the unsettling news that our initial hall didn’t have A/C, we listened
to your requests and have moved the workshop to a lovely facility in So.
Brookline, NH. The Brookline Event Center has a beautiful wood
floor, plenty of space with tables/chairs and A/C!!!!
www.BrooklineEventCenter.com
It’s of Rte 3 in Nashua, NH, an easy drive for all areas.
All details of the workshop stay the same, including the pizza lunch.
Doors will open at 9 AM. There are plenty of nearby restaurants for
dinner.
If you have any questions, please email me. Looking forward to seeing
you all on Aug 25! Get those registrations in soon! You won’t want
to miss it!
This is some technical stuff for website developers, so if that's not you,
go
ahead and skip it.
I have figured out how to make truly permanent links to Kickit step
sheets
that always take you directly to the step sheet. The problems fixed
are:
1) In the past, someone might put a link on their website to a step
sheet at
Kickit, using the dance number. But the numbering of the dances
changes from
one update to the next, so the links at their site would break
each day.
2) I added a "Permalink" at the bottom of each step sheet that
theoretically
never changed, but if your dance title matched someone else's
dance title, the
permalink would give you a table of search results instead
of your step sheet.
The new system gives a unique code to every step sheet, which will
never
change (much like the codes used at YouTube to give the videos unique
links).
I have also added a URL shortener so you can use
kkt.to instead
of
www.kickit.to, saving you 7 characters
in each URL.
To get the permanent link for any step sheet visible at Kickit, right-click
on
the Permalink at the bottom of the step sheet and select "Copy Link
Location"
or "Copy Shortcut" or "Copy link address" or whatever your browser
calls it.
You can then paste that copied URL into your website and have a
permanent link
to the Kickit step sheet right there on your site. It will
still work when the
Kickit site is updated, and it will always show your step
sheet, even if your
dance title matches
another's.
