Monday 10/1 -- I am going to the Windy City Event on Thursday and will try to send written notes to Stacy or I'll call her and she will post little notes on the website under the NEWSLETTER BUTTON because you won't get the regular newsletter from Thursday through Sunday.  I'll write the full report and add pictures when I get back and I'm looking forward to meeting a bunch of you there and seeing lots of old friends.  This is my first time going to Chicago so I'm really looking forward to attending an event I've heard so much about from so many people.  Be sure to come up and say hi and remember I can't remember names so just keep telling it to me over and over like I do Lucy training her to talk!!  LOL.  If you want to see what we will be learning the full schedule is on www.countryedge.com.  I love this time of year with all the big, upcoming events all the way through the end of the year and into early next year.  I can't go to all of them but I know someone will be and I can live vicariously!!

************************
NOTE FROM ME: Please remember to vote in the weekly survey (by late Sunday afternoon each week). Just list up to 8 of your current favorites in this format: Dance/choreographer/level (PLEASE separate with the / )

To be added to the mailing list to receive the daily newsletter, just send me an e-mail with SUBSCRIBE in the subject line and I will add you. If you ever miss a copy of the newsletter, check the website under the NEWSLETTER button to see if I have posted anything there for you to know and you can also read the previous day's newsletter at that link.
To read the newsletter faster, do a search for the word, SUBJECT. You will then be able to skip from SUBJECT to SUBJECT.

Please add in the SUBJECT line WHERE the event or class you are talking about is. The newsletter goes around the world and to someone in Singapore, WI or CA doesn't mean too much. And PLEASE remember that the subject line I'm talking about is NOT the subject line of your e-mail but a subject line that you actually type the words SUBJECT and FROM. If you do not type SUBJECT/FROM then I have to type it and fill it in and it would really, really help me if you would please do it before you send it to me. Thanks a bunch.

Subject: Bronco Jim Ward, DJ in the Lehigh Valley & Montgomery County PA areas.
From: Rosie
mul...@aol.com

DJ Bronco Jim was hospitalized with congestive heart failure this past Monday, and has already had two surgical procedures.
Saturday was not a good day for Bronco. He was in a lot of pain, so after he was given some meds, there was still no change, then the doctor did another angioplasty and did more repairs. He also removed a large clot. The doctor said that Bronco had another heart attack today! He's now in CCU in a private room with no access to a phone. His girlfriend, Jane, visited him tonight and she said he looks much better. All the swelling is gone and his coloring is good. He says he tired but feels better.
Jane has asked for help. Bronco needs to rest, and be stress-free, but he's worrying about the hospital bills because he does not have health insurance. Jane has asked for one dollar from each of us to help him. Bronco has been such a friend to many in line and partner dancing, and to the dance community as a whole.
Check out his web page broncojim.com to see how he promotes what we all enjoy so much!
Continue to keep Bronco and Jane in your prayers. He knows that you're all thinking of him and it means a lot.
The hospital allows you to send a free card via the Internet, Use this LINK:
http://www.lvh.org/lvh/About_Us/Information_for_Patients_and_Visitors|1124
Here's the address for those who want to mail a card, though if all goes well, he could be home in a few days.

There should be an account set up in a few days at a national bank to accept donations. I'll
send an update to Carol soon. Meanwhile keep Sat Oct 27 open. We’re planning a
HUGE Fundraiser at Bronco’s club, MONTANA WEST in Quakertown PA. More info coming!

BROOKLYN:Tom & Ellen Dailey, Cityline Dancers, cityl...@aol.com, www.citylinedancers.net
CHARANGA:Rachael McEnaney, 32ct,4w,beg/easy inter. Music: La Charanga Cubaila. 1 restart.
Reviewed this dance by request. Great flowing dance. The music has a really nice beat. Class loved it! Taught this at Let's Dance Again, NJ. Very well received.
FAST BACK: Dan Albro, 64ct/4w/inter. ecs line dance, Music: Faster Cars, Keith Urban. Easy to learn. Had fun with this dance. Has some cool steps. Goes well to the music. Dance ends with either applejacks or hip bumps. Also taught at Let's Dance Again, NJ. Had another good response to this dance.
ONE: Junior Willis & Amy Brockmann, 32ct/4w/beg/inter, Music: One, the Bee Gees. Easy dance which the class seemed to like, especially the hip bumps. Also liked the song.
NOT LIKE THAT: Robbie McGowan Hickie, 32CT/4W/easy inter, Music: Not Like That by Ashley Tisdale. This dance was a review. Moderately fast, has some interesting steps. Goes really well to the music. Quickly moving up the charts. Floor filler. Cool dance!
HOW LONG: Jo Thompson Szymanski, 32ct/4W/beg. Music: How Long, the Eagles. Nice easy dance which our beginners liked.
YEARS FROM NOW WALTZ: Jo Thompson Szymanski 48ct/4w/inter waltz Music: Years From Now by Don Williams. Beautiful waltz by a beautiful lady. The class loved it. Just wish the music was a little longer. Welcome back Jo!

Reviewed: CHARANGA

QUEENS, LITTLE NECK
Lynne Martino, Lynne's Dance Crew, Wis...@aol.com
CHARANGA: This was review week for Charanga. Great latin number by Rachael. Has become a popular dance to teach in our quad county area.
DO YOUR THING: Barry & DariAnne Amato, Kathy Hunyadi & Max Perry, 64ct/4w/inter, 1 tag. Music: Do Your Thing, the Basement Jaxx(Rooty). Took a "retake" on this dance at the Sept. Fun event at the Hayloft with Barry & DariAnne. This is an oldie but absolutely goodie and had to bring it back to my class. Some recalled it while others had never learned it. Wow, did we have fun with this one. There were smiles on every face with this dance.
IT'S GOOD TO BE US:Lynne Martino, 64ct/4w/inter, 1 restart, Music: It's Good To Be Us, Bucky Covington. Finally got to teach this to my class. Loved the music and the title of the song. Had a good response. They will need another lesson to nail it. I'll be teaching this at the Tim Gillis November Dance Weekend and Las Vegas Explosion.
Reviewed: TO LOVE SOMEBODY:Peter Metelnick & Alison Biggs, 32ct/2/inter. Music: To Love Somebody by Jordin Sparks. Very popular dance in our quad county. Lovely nc2 dance to a lovely song.
EVERYTHING'S RIGHT: Doug & Jackie Miranda, 64ct/4w/inter, Music: It's Alright by Aaron Neville. We've got this one now. When the music comes on you hear alot of "oh, I love this one". It's a hit in our class.
Beginners: CUT A RUG; Jo Thompson Szymanski, 32ct/2W/beg. A lesson in two 1/4 turns. Music:Roll Out the Rug, Scooter Lee. This was too fast for them for the teach, so I use Big Blue Note. Much slower and it goes perfectly to the dance.
Beginner's Plus: TALIA'S DANCE: Liz Rosenblatt, 32ct/4w/beg. Music: Nothin Bout Love Makes Sense, LeAnn Rimes. Fun little dance for beginner's who have been dancing a bit. Has a little turn at the end.
Also taught this to my SENIOR CLASS.

SUBJECT: The Deans or Dean Brothers?
FROM: sand...@suddenlink.net
I have been wondering if The Deans and the Dean Brothers are one and the same? I see it written both ways on Step Sheets. If they are the same, does anyone know which way they prefer to be known? Not earth shaking, just curious! Thanks Sandy

SUBJECT: RECOMMENDED DANCE
FROM: hil...@hawaii.rr.com
Now the days, I spend a lot of time in deciding what to teach for my weekly class since there are so many nice dances to consider. Recently, there was one dance just caught my attention as a top choice, overriding all the dances on the wait list. If you are a mainliner, please check out the dance "My Heart Is Broken Too" choreographed by Josefin Blomkvist (Aug, 07) to the music "Still In Love With You" by No Angels. This is a changing-2-wall, 32-count dance with several restarts because of the phrasing of the music. It is really an enjoyable, fairly easy, feel-good dance even though the title of the dance is not quite agreeable. Our class loves it.

SUBJECT: Jo Thompson Szymanski's Choreography
FROM: Rita Ensminger, en...@sbcglobal.net
Although I don't know Jo Thompson Szymanski personally, her choreography is outstanding. The line dance community is tremendously fortunate having someone with her talent willing to share it so generously. If you haven't checked out her line dances, it would be well worth doing so.

SUBJECT:  WHAT DEBBIE IS TEACHING IN SPAIN
Hello Everyone,
Last week I taught Silver moon as it seems to be getting popular in our area - went very well, all liked it (especially the Enrique fans!). Recaps were Country girl (popular even with the dancers who normally aren´t keen on country) and Amor de hielo (this is my new one which will be out on general release soon). Our oldie was a recap of Midnight blue ( I had intended to do Drive me wild but we ran out of time, maybe next week). The advanced group had some real fun with Neville and Julie´s Ain´t got no money (this is a fab dance that really is not that hard once mastered - but then they are all like that aren´t they?). Our oldie for this class was Deeply completely (which did not even need a walk through, why do the old classics stick?). I have been asked next week to go back over a single moment, which was a really lovely dance. This week I am going to have a look at Burning - This dance seem to be gaining in popularity and I love the track. For the
intermediates I am looking at Fire cracker and Heat of the nite, Will do guardian angel this week,
Best wishes,
Debbie (Spain)
