Thanks Shanmugam, I've totally forgot about the aggregate API calls. I
should be able to get the information I need through that.
I think the core issue that I'm having is the fact that an area like EMU
is declared under countries and regions:
http://api.worldbank.org/en/countries/EMU
http://api.worldbank.org/en/regions/EMU
The World Development Indicators use country as one of the dimensions
for its observations. In this case, EMU occurs in one of those
dimensions as a country (as opposed to a region).
Why are regions mentioned as aggregate countries in the API?
Wouldn't it make more sense to exclude all aggregate countries from the
countries API output, and use the appropriate dimension node/value in
the Indicators API i.e., if the observation is about a country, use the
country code, if it is for a region or for certain income labels, use
the corresponding code?
I realize that this might not be a desired change in the API outputs,
but, I figured it might help me understand your process better.
