Problems with creating an index

I am having a problem with creating an index. After selecting the texts in Worlist, clicking on the "Make/Add to Index" doesn't get any response. It actually appears as if the button is inactive. Does anyone have an idea how to sort this one out?

It is working OK for me. I am assuming that you put a suitable path &
filename in the window. I am using the latest version of WS5, Windows
7 on a 3-year old laptop.

You might need a fresh installation if somehow your system has got
corrupted. There's advice at

Eureka!

 

The problem was with the settings. On the settings page on the extreme right towards the bottom 'basic', and not 'advanced', was selected. This disabled computing index. Selecting 'advanced' enables the ability to compute index.

The idea is to reduce some of the complexity for new users. Ended up
making it harder for previous users...
