Synopsis 

I will be working to help WordPress support new CMS features that will improve usability and content control for users of WP.

Project Description

A quality content management system provides numerous benefits to the developer and user of an application.  CMS provides an effective structure to organize, control, manage, and publish content.  The goal of this project is to compare and analyze top current CMS applications and see the results and gains from their CMS.  From this analysis, the most pivotal CMS features that seemed to result in the greatest gains in content management for these applications will be compared to the current CMS functionality of WordPress.   After an in-depth evaluation, the top CMS features not supported in WordPress will be documented and studied.  From this point, these features will be designed, prototyped, and implemented into WordPress.   

Conclusion

Improving the CMS of WordPress should have exponential gains for the site.  Researching and analyzing the top CMS applications will provide information as to how WordPress can provide better content management to its users.  This information can be used to design new CMS features that will create a more unique and organized WordPress.

About Me

I am a student at The College of New Jersey currently finishing my junior year.  I am a firm believer in creating organized, user-friendly applications.  I applied for this project because I wanted the opportunity to work with a popular online utility that serves almost a million users.  I found WordPress to offer a project that would help my technical skill set grow, but also help to further hone my abilities to develop quality applications.
