eCommerce themes and Woocommerce slowing down my WP

Just started the process of moving away from a Yahoo store to a WP eCommerce theme. %comish, fees, etc make it a challenge to use providers like Shopify, etc.
That said, I opted for a Wootheme and WooCommerce.
THEMES: I won't get into the theme details but learned the hard way, it lacks customization features and everytime I need to do something outside the box Woo's response is "we don't support that" Since budget is an issue, I can't just go out and get a developer for a 25 products family store, specially after I paid for the theme. Any themes references would be greatetly appreciated. I need a very customizable home page right out of the box to featured a slider category driven linked to a category as well s the ability to list products with thumbnails (also from a slected category) on the home page as needed. I've spent a lot of time revieiwng themes and it seems most while having sliders, do not link to a category (think news magazine themes) and require to manualy post and link each slide.
Woocommerce slowing down WP: I'm on an IP URL right now until the site is ready for domain DNS re-routing. After installing the eComemrce theme and Woocommerce I noticed the site's WP Dashboard slowed down to ice pace sometimes. Hostgator asked me to run a plugin and here are the results. It seems Woocommerce taking lots, Woothemes has not been of help they suggested I remove their WooDojo pluging but the one that takes the most is the one I need Woocommerce regardless of theme. Any suggestions and/or quick education are greatly appreciated?
