It look like you will have to convert the file to a compatible format. You could use Zamzar, an online conversion tool.

I'm waiting for Zamzar to mail me the converted file.  Thanks for that.

I also tried http://www.youconvertit.com/
It didn't do anything.  The file was 16K as DOCX and it became 2K as RTF, but there was nothing in the file.   I think that's because the "browse" feature didn't attempt to let me choose a file.

Zamzar offered to change the DOCX to only a few types: DOC, ODT, PCX, PDF, PNG, PS, and TXT.  The only ones I know I can read with WP12 are DOC and TXT; both failed to convert.  The original file may be damaged, I suppose.
