Keep in mind that when you use that many words the text will be minuscule and barely readable. My observation.

Adoxa is correct the words would be tiny. However, to answer your question, I am unaware of any limit as to the number of characters that can be input. After you have created the Wordle, go to the Menu Bar>Layout>Maximus Words and input the number of words you feel the document contains. Sit back, it will take a while for Wordle/Java to resolve. Personally, I like using a lot of words in my Wordles. Even though I can not read them, they tend to fill in the space with something. The most used words still come out larger.
