The fourth full length by Woods, Songs of Shame, rips deeper with both 90 second and 10 minute
forays into skeletal psychedelia. This is not to say their idiosyncratic songwriting style & vocalizing
is not present in spades but expanded, colored, and twisted into a tie-dye of soundscapes. Road worn,
windblown, and deeply grooved.

"oh snap, here it is, finally out on the wax, kids! the first official collection of Kurt Vile’s brand of space pop music that “started it all” for him (if you will): a bunch of his favorite tunes from his out-of-print, self-released cdrs, other exclusive cuts, and one studio smash hit called “freeway” (voted #1 song of ’08 by many all over cybertown/talked up in the real-life streets by tons!) all lumped together onto one sweet and shockingly cohesive full length album. first released as a cd-only thing on gulcher records, and now brought to you on sweet, sweet analog -the way God intended music to be heard – vinyl. hand picked pop gems, acoustic psyche-strummers, and finger-picked heart breakers from the bedroom of philly’s constant hitmaker. much gorgeous analog synth to boot! kv-stylized, of course. ..
