Trimming Small Bottles and Single Fire Glazing

Hay Folks,

One of my old girlfriends always liked my small bottles so I made a bunch to fill small spaces in the kiln. We all know trimming the bastards can be a pia unless we make a chuck so I finally got off my dead ass and made one I could use while it was still attached to the wheel head and dry enough to hold the pot...

... and then I cut the chuck loose and finished it off so's I can bisque fire it in a camp fire next to the kiln...

Once I got a bunch of pots made I mixed up some slip glazes and applied them to the bone dry pieces. It's gonna take me some more practice to get the feel back to where I left off and I'm kinda flying blind with what the glazes looked like so I'm just mixing some Mather clear and 40/40/20 with different Feldspars including old Cornwall, a couple different tree ashes, and some fern ash...

... along with accents of real Michigan Slip, something I found in the Hayes gravel pit that looks like decomposed iron rock, and other oxides. Loading has begun but this is enough for now so stay in there and don't let it fool ya eh!
