In spite of super-careful apportioning, I now have a substantial mis-match of resin and hardener. Like 1 gal. of resin to almost no hardener. I think my "employee" spilled the hardener. It is the epoxy that was sold and labelled by Kwik Kleen as Wood Weld, with a 4:1 mix ratio. Does anyone know who the manufacturer of this epoxy is? Thank in advance.

You can use either of two hardeners. The West System hardeners work well. They sell both a fast and slow setting version. I use both; slow in summer and fast in winter. The other choice is from the gunsmith supplier, Brownell's in Montezuma Iowa. They manufacture and sell the original 'Acra-glas' product which Minuteman used for years. Minuteman private labeled the product as 'Wood-Weld' at the request of Brownell's. They got tired of their gunsmith consultants answering furniture repair questions. In the last years, the epoxy materials were sourced from West. Discount Marine is probably the best online source. If you have a good marina close by, they might have the hardeners on hand.

If you do end up switching to West (we have used it for many years) consider getting the metered pumps for the appropriate sized cans that you buy.  We use the gallon/quart cans with the pumps.  We find the metered pumps to very accurate and virtually spill proof in the shop environment.  Just one downward pump of each one and you've got your perfect mix ratio for a "batch."

Gosh it is good to read notes from Tim and Darrell ON ANY SUBJECT!  Miss the days of the Kwick Kleen Forum!  Somehow, I got unplugged from everyone...miss the learning!!!
