I've been following the list for a while and I'm curious what everyone
is using as their distro of choice? Also, which distro do you feel is
most suckless?

Personally, I run Archlinux on my home and work boxes, Rockbox on my
old iPod nano and android on my G1.

I played with Linux from Scratch and while I feel it is closer to the
suckless philosophy than Archlinux, I can't deal with having to
maintain my own build of x-server. Otherwise, I might switch.

Cheers,
Alex

Not a pissing match, just curious since I saw a lot of people mention
my distro of choice ArchLinux.

Different strokes for different folks and all that. Plus maybe someone
will mention a distro I don't know about that I may like more :)

i run Archlinux i686 on my netbook (msi wind u100x) and on my tv box (asus eeebox). I run Archlinux x86-64 on my desktop box (shuttle x27d). These installations use xorg/dwm. My local server run debian (pico pc2). And mu phone run android (htc magic).

The suckless distribution is Archlinux.

I also use Archlinux x86_64 on my desktop with Gnome ;] and second one
laptop with dwm-hg also on Archlinux but i688.
I think it's the best distro ever.

Search the list archive, we had this kind of thread already
(... and we do remember how it evolved)

I'm not sure what you define as 'a while' but, as meillo mentioned,
there is already a thread [1] with your exact question (and a large
number of answers).

Yes. That's exactly it. Gentoo is just Xubuntu with a bunch of random crap in
/usr/local.

At least Xubuntu keeps the random crap in /usr/local/. Gentoo seems
to offer a pretty even distribution of random crap all over the hard
drive

Yeah well my distro is better than your distro!

In all seriousness, I've been using Xubuntu for a couple of years but I think I'm going back to Debian.  Ubuntu needs a suckless way of dealing with updates (and a suckless way for you to configure your system to use a different WM).
