Dear Eighth Grade Parent/Guardian:

The process of selecting courses for the 2010-2011 school year is
about to begin.  The Guidance Department will present an in-school
program to describe graduation requirements and the scheduling
process.  Handbooks listing courses and graduation requirements will
be distributed and taken home by your child for your review.  We ask
that you go over the material with your child. In addition, the
handbook describes courses offered by the different departments of the
Wappingers Central School District.

The next step in the scheduling process is to meet with you.  The
administration of both schools would like to invite you to an
orientation meeting at the building where your child will attend high
school.  The meeting will take place as follows:

                         Roy C. Ketcham H.S.  -  Thursday, February
4th

Should this program be postponed due to weather conditions, the snow
date will be Tuesday, February 9, 2010.

This meeting will start at 7:00 p.m. and is for Parents Only.  The
counselors will discuss graduation requirements.  At 7:30 p.m., our
district coordinators of the various departments will chair small
group meetings to answer any specific questions you might have for
their areas.

In the process of planning for high school, you and your child should
discuss the type of program that will best meet the needs, interests
and abilities of your child.  Your attendance at the orientation
meeting at your child's high school will better enable you to make
wise program decisions with your child.  Please bring the Course
Handbook with you.

We look forward to seeing you on February 4th (snow date - February
9th).  Please call your child's guidance office if you have any
questions or require additional information.
