Hi,

thanks for the great _portable_ python distribution. However, I´m missing
some packages. For example openpyxl!
It is possible to install openpyxl in winpython (2.7/64bit)?

In general, what is the best/preferd way to install new packages in
winpython?

I needed to install: Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable Package
(x64) (The 2010 did not solve the problem)

Hi.
I un-installed Enthought Python dist, to go with winpython.
But now I can't import numpy or scipy, because of a DLL error.
I also wonder, why it says: Python 2.7.4 (default, Apr 6 2013, 19:55:15)
[MSC v.1500 64 bit (AMD64)] on* win 32*

Winpyton 2.7.4.1 Spyder and Pylint - pylint does not work?

I just installed the latest WinPython and I cannot get pylint to run on
files. I point to the file in spyder but nothing happens after the icon
goes from green to red and back. Does something have to be change in the
environment to get pylint to run with winpython? By the way, it works with
a Python(x,y) installation.

my portable winpython directory.

- install winpython3.3.1.0 somewhere (with no "$" in the directory path,
for "pip" to work correctly),

Helllo,
I have installed WinPython-32bit-2.7.3.3 on windows XP.
Inside D:\03_PORTABLE_PROGRAMS\WinPyt hon-32bit-2.7.3.3 directory there are
icons for Syder.
But I can not star Spyder or Spyder (light).
Cmd appear with some error and goes away very quickly.
I managed to see that last line is
"can not import Qwebview"

1. In Spyder, open IPython interpreter
2. It says pyreadline is not installed.
3. Install development version of pyreadline.
4. Try the above steps again, and see the following message

I have recently started using (the 64-bit version of) WinPython, and I am
also not very experienced with Python.
Now I am wondering: Is there a simple way (like Matlab's 'uigetdir') to
present a directory dialog to the user? Additionally, I would like to avoid
writing Windows-specific code.
