Hints for creating (complex) shapes

Hello!

I want to create new shapes.

What SVG-Program did you use/recommend?

I'm having trouble creating shapes with Inkscape or CorelDraw.

My files are just empty if I add them to the shape folder. I added s sample file as an attachment. 

Could someone add a small tutorial for creating a basic shape with Inkscape?

Wink has a built-in shape editor and that is really the only supported editor. Please have a look at the SVG files that are shipped with Wink and you can see they follow a specific structure and general purpose SVG editors won't save in that structure.
