I'm becoming more adventurous with WinFF now, and getting some good results :)

I doubt I've even plumbed 1% of the depth that can be achieved and wish to go deeper, but I can't find any information on many of the commands built into FFmpeg. The ffmpeg-doc.html file included with WinFF seems deficient.

For example: I currently want to play with some of the iPod presets. The one for "iPod small widescreen" contains:

-flags +loop -cmp +chroma -deblockalpha 0 -deblockbeta 0 -crf 21 -bt 256k -refs 1 -coder 0 -me_method full -me_range 16 -subq 5 -partitions +parti4x4+parti8x8+partp8x8 -g 250 -keyint_min 25 -level 30 -sc_threshold 40 -i_qfactor 0.71,

but I can't find any reference to: -flags, -cmp, -deblockalpha, -deblockbeta, -crf, -coder, -partitions, -keyint, or sc_threshold in ffmpeg-doc.html. I've also searched through some other FFmpeg resources without success.

There are, no doubt, many other commands that are effectively invisible to the curious enthusiast unless we see them used in a preset.

I presume that the video conversion guru (or gurus) who wrote the presets that are included in WinFF had some sort of reference to the internals of the "WinFF" build of FFmpeg. Can I get a copy of it ple-e-e-e-e-e-ease?

I found them by looking at the preset file provided by ffmpeg.

I usually use "man ffmpeg" (works fine on Linux, I don't know about
Windows, maybe you have to google for it), which improved a lot last year.

Googled "x264 ffmpeg mapping and options guide" and found a detailed encoding reference
