I click on Convert and I immediately get the message, "use -b:a or -
b:v, -b is ambiguous". On the next line, it says "Invalid framerate
value: 29970f/s." That value is the number that comes directly from
the MediaInfo on the file I'm trying to convert, and seems to be
entered correctly per the WinFF GUI. I would appreciate any help I
could get on this.

This is a warning only. Future version of Winff fix this, but for now
you can ignore it. Or fix the presets yourself by changing the -b into -b:v.

The number seems 1000 times higher that I would expect. Are you sure it
does not read 29.970?

Paul,

You are correct about the framerate -- what I posted was a typo but
I'm not able to edit the post. Also, regarding changing the -b to -
b.v., I don't know how to do this. And if I ignore it and press a key
to continue, I just end up with a zero bytes file. Essentially, It
appears that I don't know enough to make use of your much appreciated
suggestions. Do you think you could help me with this? Thank you.

In the menu go to "Edit" -> "Presets". In the "Category" field select
the group your preset belongs to and in next field select your preset.
In the "Preset Command Line Parameters" change -b to -b:v (not period,
but colon).

This must be an other error (which won't go away after fixing the -b
warning). Please copy paste the complete ffmpeg output to this thread.

In the PCLP, I changed a -b:a to -b:v -- I didn't see even one
instance of -b. Also, there is one other error message: Invalid
framerate value: 29.970f/s. How is this invalid? Lastly, as per your
request, I've pasted the complete ffmpeg output below. I sure hope
this helps. Thanks, Carl

This is wrong. Now you changed the bitrate for audio to the bitrate for
video.

Indeed this is the ONLY error you mentioned so far.

> How is this invalid?

My suspicion is that you need to specify the target frame rate as the
frame rate from source file might not be appropriate for the target.
Usually ffmpeg sets a proper value, but maybe not here.

It looks like some things got mixed up in the preset. You have a -b:v (I
assume that was originally the -b:a you were talking out before), a
-b:a, a -b (with wrong units) and a -ab (with wrong units). I suspect
you filed the values in in the Winff boxes. You should leave out the
units. The fact that the proper fields were not replaced is a bug in
Winff at this moment, but as it is only a WARNING, it is still harmless
(as long as you don't type the unit).
