Thursday wind

My son and I are thinking about coming down to Carlye thurs to kite .
Harbor lights works on a south right?
Any one else making it?

Ken,   There might be a slight shadow on the inside, but you should still be able to get a clean launch from that direction.  Sounds like a few kiters are heading to Rend Lake on Thursday.  Not sure where the windsurfers are going (outside of Creve Coeur).  Hans, Ed, George, Charlie, Dan, any thoughts?  I'd prefer Carlyle since it's a bit closer.    Chris --- On Wed, 5/23/12, Ken Moyer <kenmo...@gmail.com> wrote:

I agree with Chris concerning Harbor Lights. Wind direction tomorrow
should be from 180-190, and it may be shadowed a bit
within 20 meters or so of the shore.

A couple of us are headed to Rend Lake tomorrow morning to try out the
slicks just north of the main highway that crosses the lake.
Hope to get into some really nice smooth water.

I've got an AM thing, so Rend is too far for me, but would love to hit Harbor Lights in the noon hour. The NOAA graph for Carlyle is now showing a crack of East in it which may reduce the shadowing out there.

I am thinking Harbor Light for Thursdday.  Let us know if you are going or not.   At the very least Tammy can come out and pay for the equipment.

I am going to be at Rend Lake Kite Beach, North of the Causeway. Steve, Mary Kay and Charlie will be south of the Causeway.
The water level is dropping, which makes launching at kite beach better.  I hope the wind is S or SW, so not to create a shadow inside.
