All,

GREAT day at Rend kite beach with Kevin D., Kevin T., and Ed. Kevin D. and I had 2 sessions where we made it about 0.7 miles upwind to the north side of Hwy 154 and kited in glass-smooth water! Launch was a bit shadowed initially, so we just walked the kite out (water is only chest deep out to about 100 meters). Wind was good for our 12m initially, but towards the end of our first session it was getting to be too much. Winds were gustier in the slicks near the road, but still manageable for the most part (I had a couple of spectacular wipeouts!). Came in for lunch and some down-time visiting with Art and Charlie. By around 3 pm or so it calmed down a bit and the 12m were great. Kevin T. and Ed joined in for the second session and we all made it to the slicks. Great fun!  Shallow water out from the launch area was really nice for self landing.  This is a terrific spot on a good south or southwest wind.

Hope the Carlyle crew had a great day also...looking forward to hearing some reports.

that sounds like total fun...can't wait to get out there and do that.

shallow water is so  nice.

how where the waves/chop by the launch point (Kite Beach)?   I'd be tempted to hang out there to practice stuff, just for the shallow water.

Stay tuned for another clever saying.  As soon as I think of one.  Might be a while....
