All,
A cool front will pass through the area Saturday night, and it looks
like winds will be around 320/13-15kts at Ellis Bay both Sunday and
Monday. I'll be canoeing on the Huzzah River Sunday, but may try to
make it to Ellis Bay on Monday. The forecast water levels look to be
low enough that there will be enough "beach" on the SW side to launch.
Would be short cross-channel runs, but could be fun. As for Carlyle,
less of a gradient there but still could muster 12-14kt at Coles Creek
with NW flow...also a possibility.

Right now, I'm interested in Ellis Bay. Depending on how work goes
today, I might have to go with Creve Coeur Lake. Carlyle is too far
for me this weekend. Can't wait to see what all the bow kite
excitement is about!

I'll be back in St. Louis Sunday evening late. Latest 12Z numerical
runs show 13 to 15 kt there both Sunday and Monday. Let me know if you
can make it on Monday...I'd be open to checking out Creve Coeur also.
Carlyle still about 4 feet above normal summer pool, with water up to
the treeline in most spots.

Weatherunderground is showing zilch for today at creve ceour, but 13 or so from nw for tomorrow. I may try it.
Alton is the same story, zilch today and 13 tomorrow.

There is a grassy area at the north end of creve ceour lake, I've never tried it but should work. Probably really muddy though once you get into the water. I think it is fairly shallow there though. With my total lack of skill, Ellis Bay would be a bit frustrating due to the short reach.
Just gonna have to be mindful of the crowds at creve ceour; they are so "right there" and curious.

I would love one of those fans. Probably would consume a lot of
energy. Maybe we could develop a wind powered one. Definitely talking
about tomorrow, and if it's blowing on Monday, I'm game for trying
that.
I bought a new 2008 Cabrinha Crossbow, and can't wait to try it. Plus
a nice liquid force board. In Argentina, I use a 2003 Cabrinha Access,
and that thing is practically bombproof with what I've done to it over
the last 10 months. My board is really just a gel coated piece of
plywood, so I'm stoked about trying a modern set-up. Smaller initial
investment to learn on...

that knoll is where the road breaks from the coast, I think that might
be the best place as well. That's where the mystery kiters launched
from a few weeks ago, and it looks like the best place to me with a NW
wind.
