Also sorry to hear about your accident.
 
As a kid growing up I sailed alot and later learning how to fly, the one thing my dad taught me was to always respect the weather and the oceans and especially your limits.
 
If you over estimated any one of those you could be punished severly.
 
Now we surfers and kiters are always trying to push that envelope which makes it fun for us to go out on a windy day.
 
If so never go out alone on the water and make sure you can get back somehow, and that is were the kiters are walking a thin plank.
 
Like Chris has told you we will be more than happy to learn you how to windsurf. It is much safer and you will always have a board to lay on and swim back. And there is enough equipment between all of us for you to learn on and then you can take it from there
 
Let your wounds heal slow and take care of yourself. The summer is a long way away.
