Subject: Smithville Lake tomorrow Sunday October the 18th?
This may be our last chance of getting in the water at decent
temperatures until next Spring.  NOAA is forecasting 20mph base wind
with gusts up to 29mph and Weather underground is predicting 18mph.
Anybody up for a day trip?  Wind speed is predicted to peak between 2
and 4 pm with very good wind between 1 and 5pm (4 hours), so we'd be
OK leaving by 9AM and we'd be back by 9PM.  Air temperature is
predicted to peak around 60F.

I'd go if I didn't have visitors this weekend.  Have a safe and fun
day...and keep warm!   Here's a website which contains output from a
numercal weather prediction model we run locally here at the National
Weather Service office in St. Louis.  For those unfamiliar with Z
time, it's London time which it 5 hours ahead while we're on CST (18Z
= 1 pm local St. Louis).  We've found that the wind forecasts are
pretty good:
