I was in KS on business and took my gear, and Thursday I was able to
sail the lake that all the windsurfers in the KC area congregate at,
Pomona. It's an hour SW of KC. On a good weekend day there are
20-30 windsurfers!

Thursday was a marginal day by Kansas standards (15-25) so only one
other guy was there. Had a few good runs on my 5.3 and did a lot of
schlogging while waiting for it to build. Finally it did, and rigged
my 4.5. Was VERY gusty and holey with hard-to-manage chop, so overall
it was a frustrating session, but managed to have fun.

Pomona is a fairly small lake...big enough but nothing compared to
Carlyle. About half the size of Clinton. Lots of access and camping
sites and rigging areas so it's very WS friendly.

Let's get a group together sometime and head over!

I'm up for it, but it looks like a pretty small lake for a 5 hour drive.  But it would be nice to sail with a bunch of other folks.  Perhaps in the spring.
