Lake Carlyle Sunday

     I'm considering going to Carlyle, sunday, 9/27, in the morning with my windsurfer.  If anyone else is going, where do usually windsurf or kite?  I'm familliar with the public beach by yaught club after mcdonalds on the west lakeside, and cole creek campground on the east lakeside.  I have plenty of maps to find anywhere around the lake.  Thanks, richie-my cell phone is (314) 7072816, I'll leave @11:30+-.

There are some good maps on the windfunstl site for Carlyle launches.
As I understand it, the best launches are Harbor Lights (west side)
and Coles Creek (east side). Wind direction today will be around 210,
which is nearly down the center of the lake axis, so either spot might
work. Winds should come up to 12 to 14 kt by around 2 pm (I hope!).

Have a great time guys. I'm going to Creve Coeur Lake today after
lunch with my kite AND my windsurf board. I'm getting wet today, one
way or the other. If your plans change, Wes, come on over. I'd be
happy to alternate the windsurf board with you if we're not kiting.

Charlie, Art and me are going to Rend lake. this afternoon. We are
trying a Wayne Fitzgerrrell State Park launch site. It has clay bank
shoreline, shallow water out 60 ft. this time of year.
I cut up some down trees yesterday' we will have to pick up some limbs
today but this will give us 100ft. of open beach. for SW to NW winds.
Today wind will be side onshore at SW.
If anyone needs directions to the launch site my cell is 618-214-5938.

Thanks for the heads-up. I'd love to check out this site when I have
more time, but the late onset of wind and longer drive would put me
back in STL too late...and 4:30 am comes WAY to early :) ! Have a
great time.

Hope you also have a good day on Creve Couer, and thanks for the offer
to windsurf...I'll take you up on that one day. Now that the water
level at Carlyle is down I'm going over to check out Harbor Lights.
Hope the wind direction and speed by around 2 pm are good enough for a
few runs.
