I enabled the mouse gesture feature and it works, but it is not clear
to me what the purpose of the Highlight-Shift-move gesture is. It
seems to invoke Wiktionary just like the simpler Highlight-move
gesture, and it uses the keyboard, so it gives away the whole
advantage of the mouse gesture.

The mouse gesture feature does not work in text input boxes such as
the one used to type this text or the Wikipedia edit window. The
standard Shift/Ctrl/Alt right-click works in those windows without
problem.

I like to do everything with the mouse, but the mouse gesture feature
seems to work only for Wiktionary lookup, not for Wikipedia. It would
be very cool if two gestures could be used, say move up for Wikipedia,
down for Wiktionary.

Cheers,
Axel

There is no need to highlight anything if you are using Shift + mouse move. This way you could look up words over hyperlinks. Or, if you interested in looking up lots of words, you hold down shift and move mouse around, positioning it over words one by one.

You can redefine parser for mouse gesture to make it look up Wikipedia. Or, if you need to look up both, then there is a workaround in WikiLook 2.5.8. http://downloads.mozdev.org/wikilook/wikilook.xpi You can use context menu, so you highlight something with mouse, right click, and select WikiLook from drop down menu. But dragging would not work on some web sites with context menu div. Need to look closely at DOM...
