Dear WikiEducator community!

Mozilla is launching the Jetpack for Learning Design Challenge. If you
would like to build Firefox extensions that turn the web into an open
learning space, this is for you. Maybe something that links Firefox
and WE? The Design Challenge is part competition, part online course
and the best participants get invited to SXSW Interactive 2010. Have a
look at the web-site for all the details and let me know if you have
any questions about the submissions. Best - Philipp

Announcement:

Help turn the open Web into a rich learning environment and explore
new possibilities for using Firefox add-ons to support learning
online, as part of the the Jetpack for Learning Design Challenge
sponsored by the Mozilla Foundation with support from the MacArthur
Foundation. Designers, educators and software developers who want to
turn their innovative ideas into working prototypes will learn to use
the new Jetpack technology from Mozilla Labs to create Firefox add-ons
to support learning on the open Web, using standard web technologies
like HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. The creators of the most promising
add-ons will be invited to an intensive three-day Jetpack for Learning
Design Camp (to be held in conjunction with SXSW Interactive in March
2010), where they'll further refine their work and the best add-ons
will be publicly recognized. For more information see

Hi Phillip,

Wow -- the Mozilla "Jetpack for Learning Design Challenge" is an amazing project.

Thanks for thinking about our community and posting the announcement on our list.  Let's hope that we have a few innovative WE hackers that will contribute to this exciting future.

Keep us posted -- we're keen to help our friends over @ Mozilla :-)

Cheers
Wayne

I'd be surprised if we didn't get a lot of excellent submissions from
this community. You guys are a power house of innovation in open
education.
