Hi Everyone,

Do we have any graphic designers on the list who could help out with converting the WikiEducator and Learning4Content brochures into open file formats, including updates on the contact particulars and any refinements we would like to make to the text of the brochures?

WikiEducator has two brochures that were produced while WE was operating as a project under the Commonwealth of Learning. Naturally, the text and images were released under open content licenses :-) and we can create derivative works.

I need help to update the contact particulars with reference to the OER Foundation etc. The original brochures were developed using non-free file formats and I would also like the source files of the brochures to be converted into open file formats.

If any graphic designers have a few hours to gift to help us convert the brochures into open file formats (using, and open source DTP tool like Scribus:  http://www.scribus.net) -- please send me an email or offer for help by return post on this list.

You can view the old versions of the brochures here:

Of course suggestions on improving and updating the copy / text of the brochures are also well received :-)

Many thanks -- let's make the future happen together!

Cheers
Wayne

Hi Pankaj,

As always -- willing to help and serve :-). Your DTP skills will come in handy. Thank you very much.

I'll send copy text and post links to the source images of the list.

Cheers
Wayne

Tip: A very nice, but not fast, free, design logo maker is at logo.wikia.com.

Go to this page. http://logocreation.wikia.com/wiki/Forum:Requested_Logos

Doing an entire brochure is a different request, but you might want a
new (optional) dominant image / logo for the brochure and wiki???

Check it out.

Hi Mark,

Thanks for the pointers.

We have someone helping us out with the development of a logo for the OER Foundation -- not a trivial design task  :-)

The request for help on the brochure is to convert the existing layout into open file formats, and once the OER Foundation logo is sorted, we'll insert this.

Community discussion on a WikiEducator logo is ongoing -- and I suspect this will take some time before we come up with a collective consensus decision.

You will find some background info in the message I posted to the list a while ago:

http://tinyurl.com/yk4hcn7

and these pages in the wiki:

http://wikieducator.org/WE-Logo

and the talk page:

http://wikieducator.org/Talk:WE-Logo

Still lots of work, discussion and creative reflection needed on the WikiEducator logo --- we're making progress, albeit one step at a time :-)

Cheers
Wayne
