Hi everybody,
While facilitating one of the L4C workshop, I am asked about the use
of Phonetic symbols in WikiEducator. I can see that decimal equivalent
of International Phonetics Association Codes can be used effectively,
but that is a difficult process. The Wikipedia uses some kind of
template to render the symbols. What can we do on this? Has anyone
tried this in WikiEducator? Any solution?

Cheers,
Sanjaya Mishra

Teachers in this area should have installed phonetic input application on their machine, they could use them to input phonetic symbols into wiki.

We currently are using another method( not in wiki ) for phonetic symbols input into web form.

A customized "HTML Virtual Keyboard Interface"
http://www.greywyvern.com/code/js/keyboard.html ( the website currently seems not accessible )

Attached is our customized javascript file.

* How to use:

Include the javascript in header
<script language="javascript" src="javascript/keyboard.js"></script>

In the form add class keyboardInput,
<input type="textarea" ... class="keyboardInput"   />

* It would be good if someone make it an extension for mw
