As far as I know most web browsers work in the same way as WikidPad does since
2.2beta10. There is a browser-wide history where each visit is recorded (and
only deleted if the entry becomes too old) and a history for each tab or window
where one can go through back and forth.

The forward part of the latter history is deleted each time a new link is
clicked (tested with Firefox 7.0.1 and Opera 10.63).
