I've started working on making WikidPad work with a SQLite database
instead of Gadfly. Fortunatetly both Gadfly and SQLite respect Python
DBApi guidelines, so it wasn't too hard.
So far, the switch seems to improve speed noticeably; specially on
startup.
If anyone is interested I can make a diff out my changes and post it
here.
Cheers,

As far as I know, pysqlite stores content as Unicode objects. I'm
having some trouble with that.
How did you convert the Gadfly DB to SQLite? Did you do some kind of
conversion?
Regards,
Are the sources of your modification available? I want to develop to a
full patch for wikidPad, and I'd like to view what others did.
Just for the record, It seems there's another programmer using sqlite
in wikidPad: http://www.mbutscher.nextdesigns.net/wikidpadCompact/
