"Horton Hears a Who" by Dr. Seuss is in an inspiration for our speaking out on behalf of the children who are the students in the Worcester Public Schools but have no vote, no representation, and thus no voice in the budgetary process. It is what inspired Tracy Novick to rewrite the 'Horton' story to reflect the present situation as we fight for funding before the City Manager and the City Council.
In that light-hearted vein in this very serious matter is offered a youthful activity sheet.
Below is a Adobe Acrobat PDF file of ears to color, cut out, and wear.
This is a great activity for your early elementary school aged students and it makes a visible point in a committee hearing as to the need to stop and consider the voiceless who are so deeply impacted by this debate.
Enjoy!
