as bitbucket didn't let me comment on a rejected pull request of Marko, I just put it here:
matt: I see your point about gae/cassandra. of course there are endless way to store stuff and such stuff should be modular / an extension, if possible.
marko: if you make those fixes so that cassandra storage can be used as whoosh extension, maybe talk to me (or "sunu", who worked a lot with gae stuff) on IRC #moin-dev on freenode so we can check whether gae can be made working in the same way (which would maybe indicate that whoosh architecture is somehow generically right to allow such extensions).
