Dear all,
Let me invite you to the screening of our film
'Boliya pithier sohoki sootal' (A duet
with the river god,
90 min, Assamese and Bodo with English
sub-titles) in the Northeast Film package
of M.I.F.F. 2010:
Date: 8 February 2010
Venue: Tata Experimental Theatre
Time: 10 a.m. to 11.30 a.m.
The film once again proves the famous words
of Alfred Hitchcock - 'In documentary films God is the
director.'
The film crew was fumbling to find a
finale to wind up their script. Suddenly something God-send happened
that
lead them to draw a
'happily-lived-thereafter kind of ending.
The community in the film is a registered society
working from 1954. It is rare to find such an highly active
society working for more than 55 years, and that too without any govt. finance and
support. Their goal in
the last 90 years is to take a river home
without disturbing the nature. Thus they deserve a Nobel Peace
Prize for preservation of nature with utmost care
and concern.
If you are in Mumbai please come. You will find
me at the gate waiting for you.
Best regards,
Altaf Mazid
