Amici miei (Italian for My Friends) is a 1975 film directed by Mario Monicelli. The film was followed by two sequels, and is an interesting excerpt from popular Italian culture of the seventies. It tells the story of four men in their fifties: forgetful of their families they spend their time organizing ingenious jokes, in a mixture of childish and adult behaviour. Amici Miei is portrays their life with humor, but is also a reflection on freedom, society and life as a whole.
