Question on I/O

In the process display for a specific process, for example,
AnalogRecorder.exe, part of MS-Win-Plus, in the I/O section, the Other
Operation Count and Other Transfer are slowly incrementing but it
appears the process isn't doing anything but <slowly> cycling in a
loop. No other I/O counts are changing. What are these two
parameters? Any ideas of what this process might be doing? All I was
trying to do is to process recorded sound to a file. Thanks in
advance.
